A little about myself
My Shotokan Karate journey began in 2013 at North Shore Dojo in Glenview, Illinois, where I train under Sensei Jeff Kohn, a 7th-degree black belt and Master Instructor. Through years of dedication, I have competed in numerous state and national tournaments, earning multiple first-place titles. Recently, I achieved the honor of joining the USA Senior National Para Karate Team and will represent the United States in international competition.

Happy New Year! The past few weeks have been incredibly exciting! I took first place at our annual dojo holiday tournament and then traveled to Florida, with a stop in Snellville, Georgia, where I met with Barry from Eagle Sportschairs. During the visit, I was fitted for my new custom karate wheelchair, and I’m eagerly looking forward to its arrival. A big Thank You to Sensei and his foundation, Karate Can-Do, for their generosity in sponsoring the purchase of the new chair!

Focus, Determination, & Driven
With over 12 years of dedicated training, I reached a major milestone in July 2025 by earning a spot on the U.S. National Para Karate Team—becoming only the second American male wheelchair athlete selected. Now, I am training with relentless focus and determination, driven by the goal of making history as the first American male wheelchair athlete to medal at the 2026 WKF Pan American (PKF) Senior Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in May 2026.

My achievements in Karate and in life are made possible through the education, mentorship, and training I’ve received at North Shore Dojo from Sensei and his team.
Since 1979, North Shore Dojo has offered rigorous karate training taught by world class instructors. Led by Master Instructor (Shihan) Jeff Kohn, North Shore Dojo offers unparalleled training.
I encourage you to visit North Shore Dojo and learn more about his programs and classes.
